In Hills Like White Elephants (Ernest Hemingway), Ernest Hemingway writes about a couple discussing their future together.
After reading the text, I believe she woman stayed in the relationship with the man. Throughout the whole reading, the woman was thinking and questioning the relationship. Though she questioned, in the end of the reading, the woman was still seated waiting for the man to come back. I feel she was unhappy in the relationship, but chose to stay in it because of the mans happiness and not her own. In “Hills like White Elephants”, the woman says, “Oh yes, But I don’t care about me. And I’ll do it and everything will be fine.” In my opinion, it’s sounds like the woman doesn’t want to be in the relationship. She says multiple times, that’s she’ll do it if everything will be perfect afterwards and go back to the way they were. This leads me to think that she wasn’t content with the life she was living with him.

In What You Don't Know (Lulu Wang), Lula Wang writes about a time her family lied her to grandmother.
In the podcast, What You Don't Know (Lulu Wang), I listened to a story about a female who was faced with a problem. Lulu Wang had the difficult decision to make of whether to tell her grandmother that she was dying from Stage 4 lung cancer or go along with the family plan to not tell her and let her live enjoy the life she had left. I agree with the Wang's decision to lie to their grandmother. I too believe that when you tell somebody bad news or that there is something wrong with them, it breaks the persons spirit, which can lead to the breakdown of their physical health. Another reason I agree with the Wang's decision is because their grandmother is an older woman. Much older people or much younger people, in my opinion, are more sensitive to news then middle age people. As an older person, the Wang's grandmother needed to be protected from the news of her being sick. I feel this way because she's already old, though she seems to be in great shape and health besides the cancer, the news could've affected her more negatively than it would a middle age person. Though I am mostly on the agree side, I do feel it was a little wrong to deceive her. The Wang's grandmother, though old, is still a grown woman. If I were in her situation. I feel I would want to know about my own health. It isn't anyone's responsibility to protect me as a grown woman. The Wang's grandmother may have wanted to have a say on her own health. In the reading, My Name is Margaret (Maya Angelou), Maya Angelou writes about a time in her life where she was being trained to work in a white woman's home.
In this blog post, I’ll be providing my opinion on a piece I read by Maya Angelou called “My Name is Margaret”. This reading is about young African American female learning to work for a white woman. Margaret is taught how to prepare meals for the woman and cater to them, though she faces disrespect in settle ways. After reading Margaret’s story, I agree with her decision to break the casserole dish and the two green glass cups. In the story, Mrs. Cullinan was very disrespectful to Margaret. She changed her name and was inconsiderate of the feelings of her employees. I also agree with Margaret’s decision because it was her taking a stand in some way. Though she didn’t verbally express her feeling towards Mrs. Cullinan, she let her know that she was a person. Margaret told her, by her actions, that’s she was worth more than what she was being treated as. Not only did I agree with the fact that Margaret broke the dining ware, I like that she broke something that meant something to Mrs. Cullinan. Though she broke something meaningless to us, it made an impact on her. In this blog post, I will be quoting lines from readings about writing. These are quotes I most agree with, may have had a hard time understanding, or have more questions about. The readings that will be quoted are Teach Writing as a Process Not a Product (Don Murray), The Daily Writing Routines of Great Writers (Maria Popova), and Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life (Anne Lamott).

In this blog post, I answered a number of personal questions about myself. The questions came from The Proust Questionnaire, a questionnaire to help provide details of ones personality.
